Before & After Photos
In its “before” state, the client was unable to locate items she needed. Inside of a few hours, clothes were sorted with dressier styles on the left and casual wear on the right, as desired by the customer. Unwanted clothing and items that no longer fit were donated.
Books and other like-items were grouped together for easy access. We even rescued a falling-apart cardboard box full of old photos, love letters, and newspaper articles of her parents dating back to the 1940’s, moving the box’s valuables into a sturdier container for safekeeping.
Bedding overran this closet before order was restored. In this two-person household, there were more blankets and sheet sets than could be used at once with a house full of guests. Older bedding and mismatched sheets were given away to find a better use in a home that needed them.
The floor was rediscovered. Only a few pieces of luggage and a box of extra pillows for guests remained below, leaving a clear path and a tidy space.
While I do not have a “before” photo, I can more than paint a picture of the scene. Imagine a kitchen with the table, floor, and counters overflowing with boxes of food and scattered cooking supplies. Due to an unfortunate mishap with the pantry’s ceiling, all items had to be taken out to make repairs.
Happily, the story has an orderly ending. The space benefited from discarding expired goods, placing frequently-used items within easy reach, and grouping items together by category.
